From October 2015 to October 2016, PITCO participated in the World Bank’s ESMAP initiative for biomass resource mapping in Vietnam. The project’s objective was to support the sustainable expansion of electricity generation from biomass by providing an improved understanding of biomass resources’ location and potential. The project involved collaboration with Full Advantage Co. Ltd., SIMOSOL OY, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, MHG Systems, Wiltrain Oy, and local consortium members Institute of Energy and Enerteam.
The services included estimating the technical potential of harvest residue biomass, identifying and preparing an initial list of industries, conducting stakeholder consultations, analyzing data for correctness, validating collected information through on-site visits, and preparing a final report on the industrial biomass survey. This initiative aimed to develop a biomass atlas for Vietnam, supporting renewable energy development and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
