From December 2014 to September 2015, PITCO, in collaboration with ECOFYS Germany GmbH and LEAD Pakistan, provided technical assistance to the Government of Pakistan to develop a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) proposal for renewable energy strategies in Sialkot’s industrial sector. The project aimed to support industrial development, energy sustainability, and deliver mitigation and adaptation co-benefits for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sialkot.
PITCO’s services included mapping and assessing the policy and institutional environment, evaluating the viability of renewable energy options, assessing GHG emissions reduction potential, and analyzing barriers to implementation. PITCO conducted stakeholder consultations, developed a prioritized list of viable options, and prepared a NAMA proposal. The project aimed to create a framework for renewable energy-based industrial solutions in Sialkot, promoting sustainable energy practices and supporting climate finance access.
