From August 2019 to June 2021, PITCO, in collaboration with Ricardo-AEA Ltd, supported the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) regional knowledge and support technical assistance (KSTA) on Strengthening Knowledge and Actions for Air Quality Improvement. This project aimed to enhance the knowledge and capacity of participating cities to develop policy actions and technological solutions for air quality management. The project focused on preparing city-level Clean Air Action Plans (CAAPs) for Peshawar and Sialkot, forming an integrated part of the overall city development plan.
PITCO’s services included developing emissions inventories, monitoring air quality, and preparing city-level Air Quality Action Plans. PITCO conducted stakeholder mapping, developed communication plans, and built the capacity of local stakeholders for emissions inventory development. Our team also provided technical assistance for air quality monitoring, conducted pollution impact and vulnerability assessments, and identified effective solutions to air pollution problems. The project aimed to improve air quality management, enhance environmental sustainability, and build climate resilience in Peshawar and Sialkot.
