From July 2018 to April 2019, PITCO, in collaboration with SCE France, provided consultancy services for the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Project Phase II in Punjab, Pakistan. The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) through the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA), aimed to prepare integrated urban resilient 15-year infrastructure investment programs for four cities in Punjab. The project focused on improving water supply, wastewater/stormwater drainage, and solid waste management (SWM) sectors, along with specific street and open space measures to enhance urban livability.
PITCO’s services included conducting situation reviews and analyses, preparing infrastructure resilience strategies, and engaging in stakeholder discussions. Our team performed sector analyses in each city, prepared a long list of potential sub-projects, and developed integrated urban resilient 15-year infrastructure investment programs. PITCO also prepared pre-feasibility studies for priority sub-projects, conducted technical option analyses, and performed initial social, poverty, gender, environmental, and social analyses. The project involved preparing outline engineering designs and cost estimates for selected priority sub-projects, ultimately aiming to improve urban infrastructure and enhance the quality of life in the targeted cities.
