Client:
Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC)
From March 2019 to December 2019, PITCO worked on the Punjab Energy Efficient Municipal Service Delivery project funded by The World Bank Group. The project aimed to support secondary cities in Punjab, Pakistan, to become more livable, bankable, and better governed. The objective was to strengthen the institutional and service delivery performance of Municipal Committees (MCs) in sixteen selected intermediate cities, assisting them in undertaking energy audits and identifying priority investments and energy-saving opportunities.
The services provided included the analysis of energy consumption and costs, comparison of energy performance, profiling of energy use patterns, and inventorizing energy use. Our team identified Energy Management Opportunities (EMOs) and assessed potential energy and cost savings. The project involved developing an energy management and investment plan, strengthening systems, and providing staff training for better energy management in participating MCs. The outcomes included the identification of potential energy savings, improved energy management related to municipal service delivery assets, and recommendations for sustainable and energy-efficient service delivery.
