Client:
Shams Power (Pvt) Ltd.
From February 2022 to May 2023, PITCO served as the Owner’s Engineer for the 5 MW Solar PV Power Plant at Dandot Cement in Dandot Jhelum, Pakistan. The project, led by Shams Power (Pvt) Ltd., involved installing and operating the solar PV power plant autonomously under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the client. The innovative project aimed to provide clean power at 5% below the baseline cost of electricity for Dandot Cement.
PITCO’s services included conducting a site survey and feasibility study, interconnection point assessment, and capacity analysis. Our team reviewed the regulatory environment and performed in-depth shadow analysis and yield estimation by simulating various configurations of module layout. PITCO optimized the system layout, selected key equipment, conducted structural analysis, and prepared specifications for solar PV modules and inverters. PITCO also assisted in bid evaluation, oversaw power plant erection, performed pre-commissioning tests, and designed the earthing/grounding scheme. The project concluded with commissioning the PV plant and preparing an Operation and Maintenance (O&M) plan.
