From March 2017 to November 2017, PITCO, in collaboration with Finish Consulting Group, provided technical assistance for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inclusive Urban Growth Program. The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), aimed to help the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in strategic city planning within a regional context. The project focused on identifying physical infrastructure investments required to enhance inclusiveness, resilience, and competitiveness in the cities of Peshawar, Mardan, and Abbottabad.
PITCO’s services included analyzing relevant documents, preparing City Development Plans (CDPs) for water, drainage, sewerage, wastewater, solid waste management, and urban transport sectors. PITCO identified potential priority urban infrastructure investments, conducted pre-feasibility studies, and developed 10-15 year investment plans. PITCO also provided recommendations on institutional arrangements for implementing urban infrastructure investments, identified financing sources, and conducted capacity building for relevant stakeholders. The project aimed to stimulate job creation, private sector development, and sustainable urban infrastructure management in the target cities.
