From May 2019 to July 2020, PITCO, in collaboration with SCE France, has been working on the Just-in-Time Study for the Punjab Integrated Solid Waste Management Strategy. The project, funded by the World Bank, aims to establish cost-effective and sustainable service delivery models for solid waste management (SWM) in Punjab. The study focuses on identifying strategic options for reforming Punjab’s SWM systems, addressing institutional and financing constraints, and promoting sustainable service delivery models.
PITCO’s services include identifying institutional gaps, developing cost-effective measures, and analyzing the current model of SWM service provision. Our team prepares a long-term waste management strategy, covering the entire lifecycle of waste management, including separation, recycling, composting, and waste-to-energy processes. PITCO also develop complementary legislation, identify agency arrangements for policy implementation, and provide recommendations for improving institutional efficiency and service delivery in Punjab.
