From October 2010 to September 2015, PITCO, as a subcontractor to IRG and funded by USAID, carried out a GIS mapping project for the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) in Sindh, Pakistan. The project involved mapping over 800 km of 11 kV HT and 0.415 kV LT lines and 269 transformers, creating a geometric network for asset management and load flow analysis. The objective was to record all network assets, enabling authorities to make informed decisions.
PITCO’s services included conducting GIS surveys of electrical consumers and network assets, preparing GIS base maps, and digitizing electrical network assets. Our team developed GIS-based applications demonstrating solutions encompassing the entire business value chain in the power distribution sector. PITCO conducted HT and LT load flow analysis, identifying technical and non-technical losses, and developing feeder rehabilitation proposals. The project aimed to improve customer information assets management, billing, and customer services, enhancing the overall efficiency of HESCO’s distribution network.
