From March 2014 to February 2015, PITCO, in collaboration with Full Advantage Co. Ltd., conducted a feasibility study for biomass power generation in Punjab, Pakistan. The project, funded by the Agriculture Department of the Government of Punjab, aimed to assess the supply, quantity, and supply chain specifications of biomass fuel, and identify the best technology for biomass power generation. The study focused on evaluating the availability and sustainability of biomass resources, preparing supply chain mechanisms, and recommending appropriate biomass preparation methods.

PITCO’s services included conducting detailed on-site surveys to determine biomass resource availability, evaluating current biomass consumption, and assessing the sustainability of biomass resources for industrial usage. Our team identified suitable biomass preparation methods, such as baling, briquetting, and pelleting, and analyzed transportation routes and costs. PITCO developed supply chain models, recommended biomass feedstock handling and storage options, and identified suitable power generation technologies. Additionally, PITCO conducted techno-economic analyses, evaluated environmental and social impacts, and prepared a comprehensive feasibility study report.
