From October 2019 to May 2020, PITCO, in collaboration with DESL, conducted an energy audit of the thermal power plant at US Apparel Textile (Pvt.) Limited in Lahore, Pakistan. The project, funded by IFC, aimed to optimize thermal operations, including steam and hot water systems, heat recovery systems, and related components. The audit sought to ascertain direct and indirect combustion efficiencies to enhance operational efficiency.
The services provided included a pre-assessment questionnaire, on-site surveys, data collection to determine design parameters and baseline conditions, and evaluation of fuel quality and generation efficiency. Our team assessed energy consumption (gas, steam, and electricity) in the production process, organized workshops to train factory personnel, and developed detailed energy audit reports. The audit identified opportunities for optimizing thermal operations, improving insulation, tracing pipe sizes, eliminating redundant lines, and enhancing heat recovery systems.
