From September 2022 to March 2023, PITCO, in collaboration with Groupe Huit, conducted a complementary study for the Babu Sabu Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) project in Lahore, Pakistan. The project, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), aimed to support the Lahore Water and Sanitation Agency (LWASA) in developing the Babu Sabu WWTP and its conveyance system. The project components included constructing the conveyance system to transport wastewater to the WWTP, upgrading existing disposal stations, and constructing the WWTP using the conventional activated sludge (CAS) process.
PITCO’s services included data collection, monitoring, and review, conducting a comprehensive measurement campaign, and interpreting results. PITCO reviewed the proposed conveyance system, performed CAPEX and OPEX assessments, and provided financial planning. Our team also reviewed the WWTP design, conducted environmental and social documentation reviews, and performed flood and climate risk assessments. Additionally, PITCO carried out a carbon footprint analysis, economic and financial analysis, and prepared recommendations for mitigating project impacts in compliance with the Paris Agreement.
