From 2015 to 2016, PITCO, in collaboration with Ernst & Young (EY) South Korea and EY India, provided capacity building for energy efficiency in Punjab, Pakistan. The project, funded by The World Bank Group, aimed to analyze the current capacity of the Government of Punjab to roll out energy efficiency programs and implement the right training to initiate key activities. The scope included assisting the government in starting their energy efficiency program, which had just begun with a 5-year strategy in place.

The services provided by PITCO included an analysis of the current status of energy efficiency (EE) in Punjab, background analysis of EE in Pakistan and the Punjab province, identification of key government and private sector players, and assessment of existing EE initiatives, policy, and regulatory context. PITCO also reviewed the institutional capacity, governance structures, and collaboration with international organizations. Additionally, PITCO designed and developed a targeted two-day high-level knowledge-sharing event in Korea, created training programs, and supported GoPunjab with gap assessments and recommendations for setting up and running their priority initiatives.
