Client:
DG Khan Cement Company Limited (DGKCCL)
From 2009 to 2011, PITCO, in collaboration with First Climate AG Zurich Switzerland, implemented a 10.4 MW waste heat recovery project for DG Khan Cement Company Limited in District Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan. The project involved installing four Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) to recover waste heat from the clinker-making process. The steam generated was used to power a 10.4 MW steam turbine, generating electricity to displace fossil fuel-based grid electricity.
PITCO’s services included assessing site conditions, conducting economic analysis, and preparing the financial feasibility of the project. Our team evaluated the technical viability of HRSGs, selected the appropriate CDM methodology, and conducted environmental, social, and developmental impact assessments. PITCO prepared a request for proposals for a CDM Validator/designated operational entity (DOE), supported the client in hiring the DOE, and developed the CDM PDD. PITCO assisted with host country approval, conducted stakeholder consultations, prepared a CDM monitoring manual, and provided post-registration support for project monitoring.
