All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA)
From September 2018 to December 2021, PITCO has been involved in the APTMA Regional Benchmark Study on the textile industry across Pakistan. This project, funded by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), aims to evaluate Pakistan’s competitiveness compared to direct competitors such as India, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Turkey, and Cambodia. The study focuses on benchmarking factor costs, macro-level tax tariffs, subsidy/support programs, and market access under FTAs, PTAs, and RTAs for the textile value chain.
PITCO’s services include evaluating global and domestic market attractiveness, analyzing Pakistan’s textile and clothing industry, and developing recommendations to address gaps in the value chain. Our team assesses the technological competitiveness, machinery used, raw material supply, R&D activities, and environmental sustainability issues. PITCO conduct SWOT analyses, identify technological gaps, and recommend measures to address them. The study also involves global benchmarking, calculating manufacturing costs, and reviewing policy frameworks to improve productivity and competitiveness in Pakistan’s textile sector.
