From October 2020 – June 2021, PITCO, in collaboration with DESL, has been conducting an ongoing energy audit of the thermal power plant at Cotton Web Limited in Lahore, Pakistan. The project, funded by IFC, aims to optimize thermal operations, including steam and hot water systems, heat recovery systems, and related components. The audit seeks to ascertain direct and indirect combustion efficiencies to enhance operational efficiency.
The services provided include a pre-assessment questionnaire, on-site surveys, data collection to determine design parameters and baseline conditions, and evaluation of fuel quality and generation efficiency. Our team assesses energy consumption (gas, steam, and electricity) in the production process, organizes workshops to train factory personnel, and develops detailed energy audit reports. The audit identifies opportunities for optimizing thermal operations, improving insulation, tracing pipe sizes, eliminating redundant lines, and enhancing heat recovery systems.
