From October 2018 to May 2019, PITCO, in collaboration with Development Environergy Services Ltd. (DESL), conducted an energy audit of the thermal power plant at Artistic Milliners (Pvt) Ltd. Green Plant (AM-04) in Karachi, Pakistan. The project, funded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), aimed to ascertain direct and indirect combustion efficiencies and optimize thermal operations, including steam and hot water systems, heat recovery systems, and related components. The audit was designed to improve overall operational efficiency.
The services included a pre-assessment questionnaire, on-site surveys, data collection to ascertain design parameters and baseline conditions, and evaluation of fuel quality and generation efficiency. Our team assessed energy consumption (gas, steam, and electricity) in the production process and organized workshops to train factory personnel on best practices. Detailed energy audit reports were developed, identifying opportunities for optimizing thermal operations, improving insulation, tracing pipe sizes, eliminating redundant lines, and enhancing heat recovery systems.
