PITCO conducted an energy audit for Rafhan Maize Products Co. Ltd. (Cornwala Plant) in Punjab, Pakistan, from August 2022 to September 2022. The project’s objective was to achieve significant reductions in overall energy consumption and operating costs, including reducing the carbon footprint and CO2 emissions. The goals included developing and implementing programs for carbon mitigation, achieving long-term cost savings through energy conservation, providing comprehensive energy conservation solutions, utilizing technology for increased savings, and training employees on equipment maintenance.
The services provided included on-site electrical measurements, process mapping for heat consumption identification, steam system analysis, thermal hotspot identification, and waste heat recovery analysis. Our team performed measurements using ultrasonic water flowmeters and power analyzers to evaluate pump efficiency and developed a plant water balance to improve KPIs. PITCO identified water conservation measures and preventive maintenance for the pumping system. The project included a techno-economic analysis of proposed energy efficiency improvements, assessment of GHG reduction impact, and development of energy audit reports and action plans.
