From October 2010 to September 2015, PITCO, in collaboration with International Resources Group (IRG), performed an operational audit for PESCO under the USAID-funded Power Distribution Program. The audit aimed to improve PESCO’s financial, commercial, and technical standing by identifying performance gaps and recommending strategic interventions. The project covered multiple locations within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, including City, Dalazak, Fort, Industrial, Rehman Baba, and Shahi Bagh.

The audit process involved evaluating Transmission and Distribution (T&D) losses, with the sample including 6 substations, 169 feeders, and 19403 transformers. Our team conducted feeder mapping surveys, GIS mapping, and load flow analysis using SynerGEE software to calculate technical losses. PITCO performed HT and LT load flow analysis to segregate technical and non-technical losses and developed HT and LT feeder rehabilitation proposals. The audit provided recommendations for improving transmission issues, distribution system management, and segregation of system losses, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and reducing line losses.
